About the notebook

A notebook for thinking at an unhurried pace

Open Notebook was born from a desire to separate what we observe from what we merely assume. I write here without haste, with open notes and public revisions.

Method

Data, hypotheses, and open writing

I carefully separate what the data show from what we are still trying to understand. Every observation is given its source, and every interpretation is presented as provisional, subject to revision.

Hypotheses under test are named and dated. When a reading proves weak, I record the change of course in the text itself, so that readers can follow the path and not just the conclusion.

Background

An education built on continuous reading

This publication grew out of years of studying science and of conversations about public opinion. As an independent project, it exists outside the speed-driven logic of social media.

The routine is simple: read, take notes, return to those notes, and review the path taken. This habit is what sustains the essays and study notes published here.
